Baptist Union of Latvia, Women's Congress

In
Latvia Baptist Women's Union was re-establish in 1992 after the
communist regime fell. We have a a Congress every two years. For many
years Livija Lame has been the president of Latvian sisters.
This year we had our Congress on October 31. We elected the new Baptist Women's Union's president Elita Lapina. She has been on EBWU conference in Croatia 2003. Our theme was: "Remain in My love".
It was so good to see many women who were first time on such meeting.
Our Women's ministry is searching for new ways to reach people: baby
school, mothers' mornings, counseling ministry, camps for women, camps
for children in need etc.
It was blessed time. The atmosphere was loving and women were
encouraging each other to serve the Lord in love. Baptist Union's
President Peteris Sprogis prayed for the newly elected president
Elita Lapina and for the Women Committee.
We had a special prayer time for Day of Prayer. We were lighting
candles, 8 candles for Latvia regions and 7 candles for the Continents.
