Easter message 2022 - Fabienne Seguin

How are you?

Easter message by Fabienne Seguin

There are times when it is hard to see a future, when it is hard to have dreams and when it seems that Jesus has left. Our soul is sad and our heart is empty. But it is not true. Jesus said "Surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (Mt 28:20). There are times when our ears hear about wars, when our eyes see atrocities at our doors, when our heart is broken and when we feel so useless. But in these times, we also see faith, grace, love, solidarity, compassion, commitment, hope, life from ashes, flowers in the midst of ruins, forgiveness etc. It doesn’t come from us. It comes from the Lord. And how? Because He is risen! He is alive, He is no longer in the tomb. At the cross, He had the victory over death.

"They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,
but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus" (Lk 24:2)

As daughters of God, we believe that He can turn tragedies into good. Divided people can be brought together again and reconcile. There is a future, there is Hope. Our God is in control and everything is in His hands. He is almighty. As we are about to celebrate Easter and the resurrection, let us come closer to Him and listen to Him, so that "our heart [is] burning within us while He talk[s] with us on the road and open[s] the Scriptures to us" (Lk 24 :32). Let us learn from the tough times that we are facing in Europe currently (unfortunately, those times happen in many places around the globe too) to share our testimony, to bring Hope to those who have lost everything, those who have never heard about Jesus, the Messiah. And we keep on praying for those who are persecuted.
EBWU was created for reconciliation and to make us peacemakers. It is a long term process and we are challenged, especially nowadays. But if God is with us, who can be against us (Ro 8:31)? So let us continue to work together towards mutual respect and to love one another. I’m very touched by the way so many of you have answered to the current crisis in our region. Thank you so much!

I pray for each of you and I pray for unity.

I wish you a blessed Easter Sunday.

Peace and grace,
Fabienne Seguin
EBWU president, 2018-2023
