EBWU Conference - Lisbon, Portugal - 10-13 October 2024

In memoriam: Helen RamirezHelene RamirezHelene Ramirez

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" said to Him, "Yes, Lord; I have believed that You are the Christ, the Son of God, even He who comes into the world".John 11:25-27

Our dear sister Helen lived her earthly life with this certainty. She will live in the memory of all of us as the one who always responded: "Yes, I believe that Jesus is the Christ." The light of Christ illuminated her way and the way of the persons who knew her. Her perseverance in faith and joy of service made her a precious, faithful and tireless sister besides being an authentic example of testimony.

The Italian Baptist Women's Movement (MFEB) reminds the President Helen Ramirez, as a woman of great virtue who, always smiling, dedicated her time, energy and competence to spread the “Word of God" and encouraged the Baptist Women to walk on the way of the mission all around the world as "servants and disciples" of the Lord God of life, peace and love.

I remember our last meeting, on March 25, during EC EBWU’s visit at Rocca di Papa when, together with the European Baptist sisters, blessed and exhorted us to continue our mission and to give priority to solidarity and the women's work which is often silent and little appreciated but essential for the growth of churches.
Her departure leaves in our hearts a great emptiness. Confident that we will see her again in the promised Kingdom of God we praise and glorify God for having given to us this great woman and dear sister in Christ. May the Holy Spirit support and comfort her family and community.

Thank you Helen, we greet you with love. Good bye, dear sister!

She served together with the EBWU for two terms as treasurer. Her kind and supportive spirit meant a lot to each of us, who know her personally. Let be glory to God, who gifted us with her.
