| The Hungarian Baptist Convention of
Romania has 8,646 baptised members, with 3,920 joining (not
baptised) family members. About 55% of them are women. In our
churches there are about 65-70 functioning women groups.
The main events of
the last five years:
- Organising National Conferences, organising
regional conferences.
- Organising, directing, charity work
(ie. supporting our Hungarian Baptist Theological Seminary,
our Baptist Old People's Home, making of home made pasta,
etc...)
- Organising, observing of the World
Prayer Day of Baptist Women.
- Encouraging women to live a beautiful,
Christ-like family life, to serve others, to witness about
the Lord to others.
- Meeting every year with the pastors'
wives, fellowship.
- Relationship with other Women Unions,
keeping relationship with the EBWU and other women organisation.
Some notable events of the last five years:
By God's grace we could hold our jubilee celebration of ten
years since the reorganisation of our Women Union, where Yona
Pusey was our dear invited guest. A new work within our Convention
is the mission to the Roma people. Several new Roma churches
were established.
Our plans and objectives: That the women groups
be strong prayer groups, our lives be based on God's word.
To encourage women to witness about the Lord to other women.
To cultivate good fellowship between younger and older sisters,
solving generation problems in the light of the Bible.
The attack of secularism is huge - we are watching
that with pain. Our prayer is to work, that the verse from
Jeremiah be true in the lives of women: "... Teach
your daughters how to wail..." (Jer. 9:20), "...that
times of refreshing may come from the Lord..." (Acts
3:19)
