| In Spain the women are grouped together in
8 regional associations, in the same way as our churches, and
all together we form our Women's Missionary Union, which was
founded in 1948. Every year we choose a theme that serves to
guide and inspire us. The one for this year is "Grace
that Strengthens" 1 Peter 5:10. The activities that
we have developed during these past five years all come under
the framework of our Ministry Plans. Our work is divided into
four areas, and this helps us to better carry out our plans.
These areas are:
- 1. WOMEN.
The women in each of the churches meet together, they lean
on one another for support, and they find opportunities
to serve. The women of each region also take part in retreats
and other activities. Every year at national level we have
a Training Seminar for women that has been a great blessing,
this year being the 4th consecutive year.
- 2. CHILDREN.
In Spain the children are a responsibility of the Women's
Union. Our main objective is for them to accept the Lord
as their Savior, grow in their faith, and, from early childhood,
be aware of and understand Missions.
- 3. THE ELDERLY.
The love of the elderly lives on in us in a very special
way, and we try to be of help to them with diverse projects.
- 4. MISSIONS.
We collaborate with the Directors of Missions and every
year we also have a Special Missionary Project, supported
by the women. Our Union publishes a monthly magazine called
"Nuestra Labor", or "Our Work", which
has proved to be a great resource to the women's missionary
work.
