| God
wants us to Share His Love and Care with Others
The
testimony I wish to share with You is about the ability of God
to give us the strength to do certain tasks. God wants us to
share His love and care with others. I have since childhood
wanted to work with people, and got an education as a nurse.
Early in my life I experienced the help of God in different
situations. My husband and I had three boys who mean enormously
to us. Early in our marriage we discovered that we had both
the time and strength for more children.
The
day of Pentecost 1981 became a special day in my life. By the
Holy Spirit, God came to me and filled me with joy, love and
strength. I really felt that I could see the world with new
eyes. From that day I was given a special strength to serve
others. I wanted more children, but God showed me that there
are children already born who need a mother and father.
Only
two days after this, an anguished mother came to us and told
us about her worries concerning her teenage daughter. The girl
stayed at our home for a year until she was able to move out
and start living on her own. Later we adopted a girl from South
Korea, and now we have a Norwegian teenage girl who needed a
new home living with us.
These children have given us - just as our own have - both worries
and happiness; but the happiness is the greatest. Through all
I have been dependent on the love of God. He has helped me up
when I have been down, and He has shared my joy during the lighter
days. God, who knows what the day will bring even before sunrise,
gives me the strength day by day, yes, even hour by hour.
I
share this with You because I have a burning wish that all orphans
and suffering children will get the help they need. There are
many ways of helping. God opens our eyes so that we can see
the deeds lying in front of us when we surrender to His almighty
hands.
Finally
I want to remember the words written in Matthew 25:40: "And
the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my
brethren, ye have done it unto me."
Loving
regards,
