Dear sisters, I have really experienced the reality of these
words this last year. Last
autumn, in about 2 months time, my husband went into eternity
(he had a brain tumour). It was sudden and shocking news. After
his death I experienced physical, spiritual and emotional breakdown.
Fortunately, I have 3 children, who were and are with me. During
my husband's sickness and after his death many people prayed
for our family. Even though this time was really hard, we experienced
God's blessing of joy and relief in the everyday things and
the small things.
My husband was like a ripe fruit on the tree, which
was taken off by the Gardener in its time. The moment at which
he left and also the time after that opened up to me the Kingdom
of heaven from a different point of reality. That unseen world
is very close and very real: God, eternity, that is what we
believe in. I could almost see it all.
Just after Ilmar's (my husband's)
death, I stayed at home. I was physically and in every other
way so broken, that I could not do anything. And at that time
I received an encouragement from one of the sisters of our church,
'Let the prayers of others carry you now.'
And I let these prayers carry
me. It was very hard, but God has shown me great mercy. Step
by step, he led me through that sorrow and has renewed my strengths.
I have truly experienced how
all the prayers and your prayers dear sisters and brothers in
Europe, have carried me. And they are still carrying me!
This time that God has given
us, life on this earth, is important, but so short comparing
to what awaits us for eternity - our dear Lord Jesus. Then we
shall know Him fully (1Cor. 13-12).
Dear brothers and sisters, it
is exciting to live with Jesus already on this earth and it
is even more exciting to be with Him for eternity. It is worth
to love Him, to serve Him and to give ourselves fully to Him.
Thank you once again for your
prayers! 'Seeing with new eyes' is our motto for this
year.
I have seen my Lord, my life
and the people beside me with new eyes.
Continue seeing with new eyes!
