What remains?
Reflection on the EBWU - Western European Conference in Prague
"Trust
in the Lord"!!! This imperative, emphasised over and over
during these days by Dorothy Selebano, President of the BWA-Women's
Department, will remain edged upon our hearts and minds. The
deep meaning and implications of trusting in the Lord have come
vividly alive through Dorothy's unique, colourful and often
dramatic true stories from everyday life.
What
remains is the task to put into action what we've learned.
What
remains is the gratefulness for meeting wonderful, godly women
from different countries, different cultures and different backgrounds.
Yet, women, with whom we feel connected through the Love of
Christ and our common desire to glorify our Lord by serving
Him wholeheartedly in our own areas.
What
remains is the realisation, that the changes and challenges
we face in our women's unions as well as in society are much
the same everywhere. We're in it together. However, we need
not be discouraged. One strong message from God which came through
in one of the workshops, was the call to be still and listen
to the voice of the Lord. We need to look out for His agenda
and be united in prayer.
What
remains is the encouragement found in experiencing our unity
in Christ, by sharing our joys and sorrows and by seeing the
humble obedience to God's calling in the lives of our sisters
all over Europe.
What
remains is the joy radiating from the members of the committee,
a joy in spite of often painful circumstances.
Joy
comes by trusting in the Lord and doing good! Let's do it!
