Many years ago...
Many years ago
in the small city of England, one business- man received the permission
to open the first pub during the existence of that city. Local church
had very negative attitude towards this kind of institution and because
of that they started to pray eagerly so that God would come and help.
Few days before the opening of that pub, there was a thun- derstorm and
fire fell down on that pub, and all house burnt down. Church people
were surprised , but in the same time they were happy and thankful
– to the moment when they found out that the boss of that pub
suited them. He blamed prayers of the church in his troubles. Church
rejected this blame.
When they closed the first meeting in the court, the judge concluded,
”In this moment I don't know yet what will my decision look like,
but my present observation is this: the busi- nessman believes in the
power of prayers, but those church people – they
don't.”
