Day of Prayer Report from Lebanon

I would like to tell your readers that the Day of Prayer in Lebanon was very successful and a blessed day. We had around 70 ladies attending; there should have been more but because of the poor economic situation here, many ladies find the high price of gasoline too expensive for them to come from the North and the South.

Nawal Nehme, President LBWU

We are thinking that next year we will go to have the Meeting with those in the North where there are around 5 churches. It would be worth going. Our Meeting included the material in the Day of Prayer leaflet where we shared the President’s message and also the rest of the programme. Some of the ladies also shared answers to prayers, some of healing from cancer and other answers. One lady shared about a conference held in Syria for 450 ladies from several Arab countries and another shared her experience of recently establishing a Centre called ‘I am Woman’ dealing mainly with the needs of women and their development in society. This Centre teaches women a variety of vocations such as hairdressing, computing, learning English language plus other subjects. It also gives lectures on violence against women and related subjects. What is exciting about this is that in the six weeks of learning she also shares, with the women attending, about the Lord, which is the main target of the Centre!! The best news is that most of the students, of which there are 150 at any given time, are mostly Moslems!!! This lady challenged all of us and asked for prayer that God would help establish a Centre like this in all parts of Lebanon. Those of you who read this, please pray with us too, for this request to become a reality.

We ended the day with prayer for all the unions according to the Day of Prayer programme. It truly was a wonderful day and we were all blessed.
