Anti Trafficking Conference
Copenhagen October 25–28 2007

During the last years trafficking has been an important issue in the EBF. Our organisation is deeply concerned about this evil, that women and children, and also some men, across Europe are trafficked for commercial sexual exploitation and forced labour.

On Oct. 25-28 2007 an anti trafficking conference took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. I went there to represent EBWU. We were ca. 60 participants from ca. 20 countries. The theme of the conference, OUT OF HIDDEN ROOMS, told us what is going on in Europe, people are kept in hidden rooms in slavery.

The conference started with Bible study by Marion Carson, lecturer at International Christian College in Glasgow, Scotland. Issue: Brokenness. Jugdes Chapter 19.

- The customers sponsor crime.

Later there were workshops and sharing.

Respons to WHAT CAN CHURCHES DO?

The conference concluded with worship and time for commitment.

We were deeply moved by the nightmare existence and personal stories we heard, and were challenged to stand up and fight this evil. Let us seek to follow the words of Jesus concerning the vulnerable people among us "that they should not perish". This sums up our hope and prayer.
