News from Portugal
By Noemia Pereira and Margarida Barros
We
would like to take the opportunity to share some news about the work of
Baptist women in our country. We had our General Assembly on the 14th
March, where we gathered 51 women delegates from the churches. |
| We
recognize we are in times of change, and notice that the local women’s
groups are not so many and not so active as they used to be. In
spite of that, the present national leadership, headed by Noémia
Pereira, is alive and in good spirits and trying to encourage the women
keep going. In spite of that, the present national leadership, headed

Regional Meeting in Lisbon |
| | | | |
| Our
main missionary project for this year is “Filling the Empty Shelves” of
books for the Library of the Theological Institute of Beira,
Mozambique, where we have our missionaries. We are also very
enthusiastic about the ministry of prayer which is the strength of our
local women´s groups. | | | | | | |

 |
Through
projects like “Families Praying for Families”, “Mothers who Pray” and
new forms of Regional Meetings we have experienced growth and blessings. |
 |
We
ask that you keep praying for our women leaders, for the projects in
which we are already involved and for new things that may happen among
us.
