In
February this year, 60 women from all over Germany gathered
in Dorfweil for our 3-yearly Women's Council. Five new board
members were elected, the president, Dagmar Kersting was reelected,

The
theme, which we adopted from the BWA-Women's Leadership Conference
in Birmingham 2005, "Seeing with new eyes", reflected
our heartfelt desire to see our calling, the task, the situation
of the women's department and most of all, the women in Germany
with God's eyes, with the eyes of our hearts, with eyes of compassion
and love. |

Over
the last year we have been pondering on possible structural
changes, asking for direction, rethinking our goals and purpose.
With the changes in society and culture, the needs of young
women have changed as well. What would Jesus have us do to fulfil
the calling of the Women's Department? We agreed , our first
concern should be with people, not structures. Our main calling
is to be "Kingdom- builders" among women. We want
to contribute our share in promoting personal evangelism.

We
felt very privileged indeed, to have Regina Claas, General Secretary
of the BEFG, as our key speaker. Through sermons, bible studies
and worship we were encouraged to recommit our hearts and our
whole lives fully to God. He will make us fit for life and for
the task He entrusted us with. He will let us see the world
around us with His eyes and lead us every step of the way. Together
we celebrated our wonderful God, worshipped the King of kings.
We experienced His tangible presence, were touched by His love.
The spiritual atmosphere and oneness in the Lord was encouraging
and uplifting.
We
also enjoyed the rich fellowship with one another. We praise
the Lord for his faithfulness and love.
