Happy 60th anniversary to the EBWU!

- Remember the beginning by Ewa Gutkowska

This year in August 60 years will pass when in London, Great Britain God has inspired group of sisters from eight countries to unite in prayer. The suffering Europe after war needed to be healed and reconciled. First steps in this direction have been made by establishing the EBWU. God has blessed this beginning which has started with prayer through women's generations..

Ewa Gutkowska

The statement, issued by the sisters who met in London in 1948 sounds like echo and is still timely for us.

Let me remind it: "Facing the world... today, with its desperate need of faith, of hope and of love, we turn to our Heavenly Father for purification, for guidance and for strength. He has great blessings in store for us, which He is longing to give to us, but which can only be given to us in answer to our prayers... Let us, as European Baptist women, dedicate the first week in November as a week of prayer when we unitedly pray for each other and for all the world. Never is the fellowship deeper, richer and stronger than when we as one heart and one soul are praying together".

During the period of 60 years 12 of the EBWU presidents with its committies have served to the Lord. The number of the country unions grow up to over 50. Each of them has own history of the ministry but just thanks to the Lord together we could do much more that to help suffered women and children and people in need and to let know Jesus Christ as personal Savior for many who were in darkness. "The Lord has helped us all the way". (I Samuel7:12b), so we are very grateful to Him that He has used each of us as own instruments in mission work.

Dear Sisters, may God bless you, and give you wisdom, peace and a lot of joy, as you serve to people in own countries, in other European countries and all over the world.

"So then, my dear brothers - SISTERS, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your work for the LORD, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord's service is ever useless".
