"You are too old to understand it,
You are too young to understand it."
This is too old fashioned, and that is too new…"

Well, regularly there is a gap between old and new, old and young, old and modern... Do you know, how many kind of meanings the word "old" and the word "new" have? When we talk about the old – it can be very valuable, very well used, something deeply honoured, well-known, something what we can use easily, but maybe something out of date, old fashioned, useless and so on. Let's see the meanings of the new one: fresh, modern, mysterious, full with challenges, unsettled... and so on.

When we see a new grey hair in the mirror one morning, we are not happy with that. Another time we jump into the new challenges and a bit later we realize the old custom was better, healthier. Did you see old things in the market or in the antique shop? Most of them are not good for anything more just for fun, for collectors creating an old atmosphere. But there was a time when these things were very valuable for someone somewhere.

Do you see conflicts between the old and the new?
Nowadays, we, as Christians, represent "old fashioned" style in behaviour, in customs, in moral life according to today's world. What does it mean, old and new, according to Biblical thinking? In Christ we got a completely new life. Everything that was old became a new creature in him. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: the old has gone, the new has come " 2Cor. 5,17

We may understand it with an example, as we overwrite a text on the computer, so the Holy Spirit overwrites our attitude, our personality. And we become a new creature. We see our world through new eyes from that time on. As the apostle Paul writes "Don't conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Rom 12,2

And the miracle in all of this is that we have got everything that is needed to represent Christ in this world. And with his blessings we may fulfil our mission, because "The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed." Rom 8,19

Be, my dear Sisters, brave ambassadors to represent our Lord in this world for his glory among those circumstances where our Heavenly Father wants to see us. God bless you in your wonderful journey with Him, in Him.
